On Aug. 5, women's gymnastics events officially wrapped, with Team USA rounding out what Simone Biles is calling its "redemption tour." Biles, who became the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history after she and her fellow USA teammates won gold in the women’s gymnastics team final event early in the Games, earned her fourth medal in Paris when she scored silver in the floor exercise final. Jordan Chiles received bronze in that event, and the day before, Suni Lee secured bronze during the women's even bars final.

Other big highlights have come out of the track and field events, too. Noah Lyles and Fred Kerley claimed gold and bronze, respectively, during the men's 100m event, and Sha’Carri Richardson took silver during the 100m event.

This year, the athletes are receiving custom medals, which were designed by French jewelry house Chaumet, that have an 18-gram hexagonal chunk of iron from the Eiffel Tower embedded in each of them. Each medalist is also receiving a gold box that includes the official poster for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
